How protein degradation is controlled is a central question in biology. In an article recently published in Cell Reports, the Farese/Walther labprovides a global analysis of protein turnover analyzing some 120 Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutants. The power of this TMAP approach is illustrated by the analysis of specific pathways governing, for instance, lipid metabolism pathways.
